Allergy Information

Contains wheat, egg, and dairy when prepared with the standard meatballs, Italian roll, provolone, and Parmesan. Removing the roll does not make the Meatball Parm gluten-free because the meatballs contain seasoned breadcrumbs. The complete breadcrumb allergen label should be confirmed directly with staff. Amato's uses a shared grill and kitchen, and cross-contact cannot be guaranteed.

When an allergy is disclosed, staff may clean part of the grill, clean utensils, change gloves, and use a clean knife, but an allergen-free order cannot be guaranteed.

Common Questions

What comes on the Meatball Parm?
It comes with hand-rolled meatballs made in-house, house-made marinara, melted provolone, more marinara, and grated Parmesan on a fresh Italian roll.
Are the meatballs made in-house?
Yes. We grind the same beef used for our cheesesteaks and hand-roll the meatballs in-house with eggs, garlic, black pepper, oregano, and Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs.
How many meatballs come on each size?
The Mini has 1 meatball, the Shorty has 2, the Half has 4, and the Whole has 8. Each meatball is cut in half for service so it fits properly in the roll.
How are the meatballs cooked?
The meatballs are baked, then cut in half and finished to order with house-made marinara and melted provolone.
Is the marinara made in-house?
Yes. Our marinara is made in-house with tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and black pepper.
Can I add onions, mushrooms, or peppers?
Yes. Grilled onions, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and hot cherry peppers are available. They are cooked into the sandwich on the grill rather than placed loose on top.
Can I choose a different cheese?
Yes. Provolone is standard and strongly recommended, but White American, Cheez Whiz, Cooper Sharp, or no cheese are available upon request.
Can I request extra or light marinara?
Yes. Extra, light, or no marinara is available upon request.
Can I add another sauce or condiment?
Yes. Other sauces, mayo, and mustard are available upon request, although the standard Meatball Parm is built around house-made marinara.
Can I order it without bread?
Yes. It can be served without bread or over lettuce at no additional charge. The meatballs contain seasoned breadcrumbs, so removing the roll does not make it gluten-free.
Is the roll toasted?
No. The Meatball Parm is served on a fresh Italian roll that is not toasted or grilled by default.
What size should a first-time customer order?
The 7-inch Shorty includes two meatballs and is the standard Amato's experience.
Does the Meatball Parm contain gluten?
Yes. The meatballs contain seasoned breadcrumbs, and the standard Italian roll also contains wheat.
Can Amato's accommodate food allergies?
We can take extra precautions when an allergy is disclosed, but the Meatball Parm contains egg and wheat and is prepared on a shared grill in a shared kitchen. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free order.
